Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) helps individual clients, from teen years and older to reduce suffering, increase skills that will replace ineffective coping behaviors, gain control of their reactions and “help the client move from a state of quiet desperation to one of full emotional experiencing.”
Our counseling center can treat treat common issues including: addiction, anger management, divorce recovery, domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse, grief and loss, conflict resolution, and parent-child relationships. Our counseling staff are specially trained and experienced in working with families who have loved ones with a developmental disability, such as autism or an intellectual disability. With all clients, we concentrate on goal building, strengthening relationships; reducing conflict, building communication skills and enhancing the ability to manage worries and stress.
DBT therapies can also be appropriate for treating individuals with developmental disabilities such as autism and aspergers.
